Inheriting Poliziano Winery from his father in 1980, Federico Carletti ensures his wines are made solely from estate grown grapes to honor the land that they come from. Convinced that fine wines originate in the vineyard, Carletti considers himself a farmer first and foremost. Known for producing beautiful terroir-driven wines, his 2015 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is an outstanding value that you will not want to miss!
Earning the trifecta of 92 points from Wine Advocate, James Suckling, and Wine Enthusiast, this Tuscan red is predominately made of Prugnolo Gentile, the native Sangiovese strand in Montepulciano. It leads with bright cherry, earth, and floral notes on the nose into a bold and concentrated palate of blueberry, cherry, and plum. The balance between ripe fruit, well integrated oak, and structure proves this wine will continue to age superbly. Antonio Galloni of Vinous didn't applaud Polizano as "one of the reference points in Montepulciano" for nothing.
"The concentrated but almost weightless palate offers juicy raspberry, fleshy black cherry, espresso and star anise alongside polished supple tannins. "

"The 2015 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is a truly generous Tuscan red with a bright and cherry-driven bouquet. This is a deep, plush, soft and richexpression overall."
