A rare grape with just 10,000 acres planted worldwide, Petite Sirah is typically known for its high tannin level and fruit-forward style making it a common addition to blends. Don't be fooled though, the varietal has the body and power to please the boldest of palates and when done right can be quiteage-worthy. That's why when we found the elegant and approachable 100% Petite Sirah from Foppiano Vineyards, we knew we had to share it with you. With the help of Foppiano, the varietal has even garnered a cult following with the creation of a club devoted to its cultivation and appreciation appropriately named PS (Petite Sirah) I Love You.
Dark and earthy, Foppiano Estate Petite Sirah delivers on both body and flavor. Blackberry, plum, and sage aromas lead into a fruit-forward palate of raspberry jam, blueberry, and espresso notes with a firm yet ripe tannic finish. Elegant while remaining very drinkable, this red will go great with hearty dishes, braised meats, and even a nice cheese spread. Wonderful quality for the price.
