2014 Bodegas Muriel Reserva

Spain | Tempranillo

 Paul's Fall Favorite

A ridiculous value in Rioja.  This Tempranillo based wine sells for what most producers in the region charge for their lowly joven (young) wines.  All the earmarks of traditional Rioja, but from a producer that has a foot clearly planted in the modern winemaking world.  Dark, rich & toasty.

"This generous red offers a broad, dense texture, with well-integrated tannins and orange peel acidity. Fresh and dried cherry, bramble, tobacco and spicy flavors give this a traditional character. Balanced and lively."
