2015 Chateau de Malleret Cru Borgeois Haut-Medoc

Bordeaux | Bordeaux Blend
“This wine comes from a historic 700-acre estate in the southern Médoc that's home to vines, forests, and stallions. The wine is ripe and full of black currants from its majority of Cabernet Sauvignon. Rich and packed with generous fruit, the wine shows the progress the property has made in recent years. It still holds plenty of tannins, so age further and drink from 2023. “

Another incredibly successful Cru Bourgeois is the 2015 Château De Malleret which comes from an estate located just north of Bordeaux, in the southern part of the Médoc. It packs a surprising amount of fruit and texture and gives up classic notes of lead pencil and cedary as well as leafy herbs, truffle, and underbrush. Drink this plump, medium-bodied, nicely concentrated Haut-Médoc anytime over the coming decade or so. It's worth checking out.”
