2019 Domaine Saumaize-Michelin Pouilly-Fuisse Pentacrine

Burgundy | Chardonnay
"The 2019 Pouilly-Fuissé "Pentacrine", named after the fossil, has a taut, quite earthy bouquet, just a light reduction, apple peelings, damp earth and light chalky scents. The palate is vibrant on the entry with fresh acidity, citrus fresh, building with more tropical notes such as apricot and pineapple towards the very harmonious finish. Excellent."

"Pentacrine is a star shaped fossil, also found in parts of the Jura, hence the appellation of Etoile, apparently. Fullish yellow, with an enticing succulent nose, less high octane. Needs to have sulphur adjusted which explains a bit the succulent sensuality which will tighten up. Softly oaky finish, supple soft and generous."
