"The 2021 Ribona from Boccadigabbia is a lovely example of this ancient varietal that is seldom found now in the Marche. The estate has two hectares planted with twenty-five year-old vines of Ribona and the wine is fermented and raised in stainless steel. The 2021 version comes in at an even thirteen percent octane and offers up a complex aromatic constellation of green olive, tart pear, lime peel, a touch of grassiness, dried flowers and a lovely base of soil tones. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied and complex, with excellent depth at the core, a fine spine of acidity, excellent focus and grip and a long, well-balanced and classy finish. This really has impressive backend lift."
